Frequently asked questions
Which passport photo sizes are supported?
You can crop to US 2x2 in (51×51 mm), Schengen/EU (35×45 mm), UK (35×45 mm), India (51×51 mm) and China (33×48 mm). Each size uses its exact millimetre dimensions so the aspect ratio matches the official requirement.
What resolution and format are the photos?
Photos export as JPG at 300 DPI, the standard print resolution accepted by most passport and visa offices. The pixel size is calculated from the millimetre dimensions of the size you choose, so an image is print-ready straight away.
What is the print sheet?
The print sheet tiles as many copies of your cropped photo as fit on standard 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) photo paper at 300 DPI, with small gaps between them. Print it at home or hand it to a photo shop, then cut out each photo.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server, so it stays completely private.
Does it remove the background or check compliance?
No. This tool crops and resizes your photo to the correct passport dimensions and 300 DPI, but it does not change the background, adjust lighting, or verify official compliance. Start from a photo taken against a plain, evenly lit background.
What image formats can I upload?
You can upload any common image format your browser supports, including JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC. Whatever you upload, the cropped result is always exported as a 300 DPI JPG.
