Frequently asked questions
What image formats can I use?
You can load common image files such as JPG, PNG and WebP. The result is always saved as a transparent PNG, the standard format that supports an alpha channel.
What kind of images work best?
Images with a flat, solid background — like logos, icons, signatures or product shots on a single color — give the cleanest results. Busy, textured or gradient backgrounds are much harder to remove cleanly with color-based selection.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded to any server, so it is completely private.
Why is the output always a PNG?
Transparency needs an alpha channel. PNG supports it, while JPG does not, so the transparent result is always exported as a PNG.
How does the tolerance slider work?
Tolerance controls how close a pixel's color must be to the color you picked before it is made transparent. A low value removes only near-exact matches; a higher value also clears similar shades and anti-aliased edges, but too high can eat into your subject.
How do I choose which color to remove?
Use the color picker to set an exact color, or simply click the background directly in the preview to sample that pixel. By default the tool starts from the top-left pixel of your image.
