What image formats can I pick colors from?
Any image your browser can open works, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and even HEIC on supported browsers. Just drop the file in and click to sample colors.
Is my image uploaded or is it private?
Your image is never uploaded. It is drawn to a canvas and read entirely in your browser, so the file and the colors you pick stay 100% private on your device.
What color formats and values do I get?
Every pixel you click is shown as HEX (e.g. #3A7BD5), RGB and HSL at the same time, and each value has its own copy button so you can paste it straight into your CSS or design tool.
How is the color palette built?
The tool samples pixels across the whole image and groups similar shades into buckets, then surfaces roughly six of the most dominant colors as clickable chips you can pick instantly.
Is there a limit on image size or how many colors I can pick?
There is no upload limit and no cap on how many colors you sample. Because processing happens locally, very large images depend on your device's memory, but typical photos and screenshots work smoothly.
Can I use the picked HEX and RGB colors for web and design work?
Yes. The HEX, RGB and HSL values are standard formats you can paste directly into CSS, HTML, Figma, Photoshop or any design app to match colors exactly.
