Frequently asked questions
What image formats can I blur or censor?
You can load any common image the browser can open, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and HEIC screenshots or photos. Whatever you load, the censored result is always saved as a PNG.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is processed entirely in your browser using a local canvas and never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, making it safe for private photos, ID documents and screenshots.
Can the blur, pixelation or black box be reversed?
Black box and pixelate permanently replace the original pixels, so they cannot be recovered. Strong blur is also effectively irreversible — for the most sensitive details, use black box or pixelate.
Can I cover several areas in one image?
Yes. Draw as many boxes as you like over different faces, names or numbers. Each box uses the mode currently selected, and Clear removes them all so you can start again.
Will censoring reduce the quality of the rest of the image?
No. Only the regions you draw boxes over are altered; the rest of the picture stays untouched at its original resolution, and the file is exported as a lossless PNG.
Is there a file size or resolution limit?
There is no fixed limit — because everything runs locally, the practical ceiling is your device's memory. Very large photos simply take a little more time to render and download.
