How long should a ringtone be?
Ringtones are usually about 30 seconds, which is why the end time defaults to 0:30. You can set any start and end you like to make it shorter or longer for a call, text tone or alarm.
What does the fade in / out option do?
When checked, it adds a 1-second fade in at the start and a 1-second fade out at the end so the ringtone eases in and out smoothly instead of cutting off abruptly. Uncheck it for a hard cut.
Will this work as an iPhone ringtone?
This tool outputs an MP3, which Android plays as a ringtone directly. iPhone uses the .m4r format, so you would need to convert the MP3 to .m4r and add it through your device before it can be set as an iPhone ringtone.
How do I enter the start and end times?
Type plain seconds like 90, or use mm:ss like 1:30 and even hh:mm:ss for longer files. The end time must be later than the start time, and the section between them becomes your ringtone.
