Frequently asked questions
What audio formats can I cut?
You can load common audio formats including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG and FLAC. Whatever you upload is trimmed and exported as an MP3 file.
What time format should I use for start and end?
Use either plain seconds like 90, or mm:ss / hh:mm:ss like 1:30 or 0:01:30. The tool keeps everything between your start and end time and discards the rest.
What output format do I get?
The trimmed clip is always saved as an MP3, re-encoded at high quality (VBR ~q:a 2). Because it re-encodes, any supported input format works reliably.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. The first run downloads a ~30MB engine, which is then cached so later cuts work offline.
Is there a file size or length limit?
There is no fixed limit — cutting happens in your browser, so it depends on your device's memory. Very large files use more RAM and take longer, so short to medium clips process fastest.
Will cutting reduce the audio quality?
The clip is re-encoded to MP3 at a high-quality setting, so the result sounds very close to the source. It is not a lossless copy, but the difference is hard to notice for most listening.
