How to use
- Drop an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, and more) onto the box or click to choose one from your device.
- Drag the slider or type a value to set the pitch shift in semitones (-12 to +12) — the length and tempo stay exactly the same.
- Click Apply and let the in-browser engine retune the track without changing its speed.
- Download your pitch-shifted MP3 — nothing was ever uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What audio formats can I use?
You can load common formats like MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and FLAC — anything your browser recognizes as audio. The pitch-shifted result is always re-encoded to a high-quality MP3.
Does changing the pitch also change the length or speed?
No. The tool raises or lowers the pitch while keeping the exact same duration and tempo. It resamples the audio to shift the pitch, then uses a time-stretch (atempo) stage to restore the original length, so only the pitch changes.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. On the first run the tool downloads a one-time ~30MB engine (ffmpeg.wasm), then it works entirely offline and your audio never leaves your device.
How many semitones can I shift the pitch?
You can shift the pitch from -12 to +12 semitones, which covers a full octave down and a full octave up. Positive values raise the pitch and negative values lower it.
Will the audio quality stay good?
The result is exported as a high-quality MP3. Large pitch shifts near ±12 semitones can sound slightly artificial because the audio is stretched more, but modest shifts of a few semitones usually stay clean and natural.
What is this useful for?
Transposing a song or backing track to a different key, matching a vocal or instrument to your range, fixing a slightly out-of-tune recording, or creating higher or lower voice effects — all without changing the timing.
