How does the hashtag counter work?
As you type or paste text, the tool scans it for every word starting with # and counts them in real time. The count, duplicate removal, and formatting all happen locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing is sent to a server.
Why does it warn me at 30 hashtags?
Instagram allows a maximum of 30 hashtags per post or comment, and any extra tags are simply ignored. The counter flags when you cross 30 so you can trim your list before posting.
How are duplicate hashtags removed?
When Remove duplicates is on, repeated hashtags are dropped and only the first occurrence is kept. Matching is case-insensitive, so #Sunset and #sunset are treated as the same tag.
Are my captions or hashtags uploaded anywhere?

What counts as a hashtag?
Any run of letters, numbers, or underscores that follows a # symbol counts as a hashtag. Unicode letters are supported, so non-English hashtags like #café or #東京 are detected too.
