What file formats can I merge?
You can merge .xlsx and .xls Excel workbooks. All sheets from each file are copied into a single output workbook, which is saved as an .xlsx file.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your Excel files are read and merged locally on your device and are never uploaded, so your data stays private.
How are duplicate sheet names handled?
If two files contain sheets with the same name, the tool automatically renames duplicates by adding a numbered suffix, so no sheet is overwritten. Names are also trimmed to Excel's 31-character limit.
How many files can I combine at once?
You need at least 2 files to merge. There is no fixed upper limit, but because processing happens in your browser, very large files or a large number of workbooks depend on your device's available memory.
Does merging change my data or formulas?
Each sheet is copied into the combined workbook as-is, so cell values and structure are preserved. Cross-file formula references and some advanced Excel features may not carry over exactly between separate workbooks.
What is the name of the merged file?
The combined workbook downloads as merged.xlsx. You can rename it after downloading to whatever you like.
