Frequently asked questions
Which barcode formats are supported?
You can generate CODE128, EAN13, UPC, CODE39 and ITF14 barcodes — covering most retail, product-labeling and logistics use cases.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The barcode is rendered locally in your browser using JavaScript, so your value never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG output?
PNG is a raster image that is ready to paste into documents or print at a fixed size. SVG is a vector file that scales to any size without losing sharpness, which is ideal for print and design work.
Why does my value show as invalid?
Each format has rules: EAN13 needs 12 or 13 digits, UPC needs 11 or 12 digits, and ITF14 needs an even number of digits. CODE128 and CODE39 are the most flexible and accept letters and numbers.
Is there a limit on how many barcodes I can create?
No. There is no limit, no sign-up and no watermark — you can generate and download as many barcodes as you like, completely free.
Can I use these barcodes commercially?
Yes. The generated barcode is just an image of the value you enter, so you can use it on products, labels and packaging. Note the tool encodes the value you type; it does not assign or register official GS1 numbers for you.
